Parent of Joseph, Year 7
What is the best support for a child in school? Teachers, parents and the wider community working together to ensure everything is in place to enable each child to do well.
One of the things that makes St John Bosco College special are the strong relationships the school has with its parents and the wider community. We are proud of our amazing students and dedicated staff and want to ensure that the work done every day in the classrooms and playground is fully supported and enriched by parents who are enthusiastic about their child’s education and a wider community who believed and invests in the young people who are the future.
WE NEED YOUR HELP AND SUPPORT!
As a parent of a pupil at St John Bosco College you automatically gain membership of our PTA organisation and we’d like you be an active member of this group. Here’s how you can help.
There are many ways you can support as parents:
The most powerful thing you can do is be involved! Take part in PTA meetings and events. Get to know your child’s friends, their families and the school community from the inside. Know your child’s school; the staff, the priorities and the opportunities for development. Come and contribute ideas and suggestions and help the school to spot any areas that need improvement. PTA meetings are held each half-term and details will be sent out to you and can also be found on our website.
If you can’t attend regular meetings or be involved in the organisation and planning, then please do come along and support events that happen throughout the year.
You can support the PTA financially through regular donations to the school PTA account. We suggest a £10 monthly donation but please give according to your means. Please see details of how you can contribute below.
Every penny is spent on resources for your child in school: in previous years we have sponsored shelves and books for the library, student art work printing for the school corridors and football tables for the playground.
