There are a variety of notices that contain the national rules and regulations for exams:-
Information for candidates:
It is very important that all students read each one so that they know what is expected of them. Please click on the links below to view this guidance: www.jcq.org.uk/exams-office/information-for-candidates-documents
Dates for 2020
Students will need to come in to school to collect their results (more information regarding timings and venue will be given nearer the time). Any results not collected on the day will be posted, first class, to the student’s home address.
Please note that parents cannot collect results on behalf of their son or daughter unless the student has notified the Examinations Manager in advance and the parent brings letter of authorisation (signed by the student) on the collection day.
Post Results Services
A comprehensive pack will be enclosed with student’s exam results with forms to fill in and the cost of various services. It is strongly advised that students speak to teachers or members of the senior leadership team to make sure that they are making the best choice when requesting re-marks as they are very expensive. It is also worth noting that grades can go up, down or in most cases stay the same. A re-mark has to be requested in writing and signed by the student. No-one apart from the student can request a re-mark.
Replacing Certificates
REPLACING GCSE / A-LEVEL CERTIFICATES AND RESULTS
National regulations state that schools only have to store students’ exam certificates for one year; after that they have to be shredded and students have to apply to the exam boards directly to replace them.
It helps if you know which subjects you studied with each Awarding Body, but it’s not essential as there are only four main Awarding Bodies and they can usually track your achievements quite quickly when you give them your personal details.
