All Governors and advisors meet every term as a Full Governing Body. This is chaired by the Chair of Governors, Jane Hargrave. The Full Governing Body meets following three committee meetings and will have a summary of those meetings presented. Any policies or decisions that require Full Governing Body approval are presented. Confidential matters are discussed in the absence of any members of staff [except the Headteacher]. The meetings take place at school and are usually preceded by Governor Training.
Jane has been Chair or Governors at SJBC since the school opened in 2015 and before that, was Chair of the temporary Governing Body that was constituted to manage the merging of the two previous Catholic Schools.
Jane attended Salesian School Chertsey, leaving in 1981 and her long association with the Salesians has continued since. Following graduation with a degree in Microbiology from the University of Bristol, her career encompassed IT and Project Management. After the arrival of her three children, Jane moved into a Finance role in a software company.
Apart from her involvement with SJBC she volunteers as a Magistrate sitting on the Surrey Bench and has also been involved in many charitable fundraising projects.
Jane is proud to support the staff and students at SJBC to strive for improvement and continue to be the welcoming family school that we aim to be.
Nick attended Clapham College (now St Francis Xavier Sixth form College) between 1971-78 before studying PE and History at St Mary's University and then taking a PGCE at St Luke's College, Exeter University.
He began teaching History and Physical Education at Salesian College Farnborough in September 1983, taking on a variety of positions, including Head of Physical Education and Head of Sixth form. In January 2002, Nick accepted the role of Vice Principal at St Joseph's College, Reading.
In September 2011, he returned to Salesian College Farnborough as Deputy Headteacher Pastoral and remained in this post until August 2020. Nick went part-time in September 2020 and taught Politics and History until August 2024. He has a close association with the Salesians, having visited several Salesian schools in the UK and throughout the world.
Educated at Thornleigh Salesian College Bolton, Professor Lydon holds degrees from the Universities of Durham, Liverpool and Surrey. He is Professor of Catholic Education at St Mary's University, London. In addition, he is Professor of Education at the University of Notre Dame, London Global Gateway.
John’s significant areas of scholarship and research are focused on Catholic school leadership, the maintenance of distinctive religious charisms and the relationship between these and competing school paradigms in the twenty-first century.
Most recently he was appointed international Visiting Professor of the Pontifical University of Santo Tomas, The Philippines and to the Board of ACISE (The Association of Catholic Institutes of Education), affiliated to the International Federation of Catholic Universities.
Professor Lydon is a member of the Executives of the World Union of Catholic Teachers, the Catholic Association of Teachers, Schools and Colleges of England and Wales and the Catholic Union of Great Britain. He is also a senior fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
He is the Executive Editor of International Studies in Catholic Education, the first ever international and interdisciplinary journal devoted to the systematic study of Catholic education.
Fr David O'Malley SDB has been working with young people for over 50 years. Qualifying as a youth worker in 1971 and as a teacher in 1974, he has worked in Secondary education, residential education, retreat ministry, and scouting, as well as working abroad in social work settings.
In 1990, David became national coordinator of the Salesian Youth Network, including training networks and coordinating a national pattern of volunteer communities. In the mid-nineties, he completed an MA in religious experience with the university of Wales. Since then, David has worked as a full-time school chaplain for ten years, was the director of the Salesian retreat centre in Cheshire and is now coordinator of Salesian schools across Great Britain.

Fr Williams was educated at the Salesian College in Chertsey and joined the Salesians of Don Bosco in 1964. After university study he began teaching Mathematics at the Salesian College in Farnborough in 1969. Theological studies followed at Heythrop College, London University, and he was ordained in 1975.
Returning to school ministry he held posts as Head of Department and Head of Sixth Form and from 1984 to 2001 was Headteacher of Thornleigh Salesian College, Bolton, a 1,550-pupil comprehensive school. From 2002 to 2020 he was a trustee of the Salesians of Don Bosco UK with the responsibility of managing the business of the charity on behalf of the trustees, working full time from the Provincial Office in Bolton.
In 2022 he was appointed as the Provincial Secretary for the British province of the Salesians of Don Bosco. He has been the Safeguarding Lead for the Salesians of Don Bosco for the last 10 years.
Allan attended Salesian College, Farnborough 1981 – 1988. He studied Geography at University College London and then completed a Masters in Transport at Imperial College London. Allan has worked for London Underground for the last 30 years and currently manages the stations on the Northern and Jubilee Lines.
He became involved with St John Bosco College in 2010 as a member of the Temporary Governing Body, before being invited to join the current Governing Body shortly after the new college opened. Allan is currently the Chair of the Resourcing Committee and Vice Chair of the Governing Board. He is married with three children and is an active member of St Anselm’s Parish in Tooting.
Wandsworth resident and a member of the congregation at Sacred Heart RC church in Battersea. Graduate in Economics and an employment background in press, communications and Parliamentary affairs. Until June 2017, worked as a Caseworker to Battersea’s Member of Parliament, Jane Ellison, and now has his own company working in press and public relations.
A Wandsworth Councillor for 16 years, Chair of a number of key Council committees as well as a member of the Planning Applications Committee which originally gave the school permission to be built.
A member of the Governing Body at SJBC since summer 2017 and Chair of the Governing Body at Sacred Heart RC Primary School (Battersea) since 2000.
Luke Vujnovic attended Salesian College Battersea between 2000 – 2005 and was the school captain in his final year. He is also the current vice-chairman of the College’s past pupil association.
Luke studied BA Theology at Heythrop College, London, followed by an MA Abrahamic Religions at the same institute.
Luke joined the Civil Service in 2012 and has worked for a number of Departments in roles including operational delivery, resilience, business continuity and policy.
Luke is a local resident and his Parish is St Mary’s in Clapham Common.
This is his second term serving as a governor at SJBC.
Moira has a degree in Computer Science and spent her working life in IT Management Consultancy and software development. Following her retirement, Moira joined the Wandsworth Borough Council Education Services team and assisted with the establishment of the WBC governing body clerking programme.
She was Chair of Governors at Our Lady of Victories RC Primary School in Putney for 8 years until September 2019. Moira is the Safeguarding officer for my local parish, Our Lady of Pity & St. Simon Stock. Moira has been a Foundation Governor at SJBC since January 2016.
Isabel is Head of Marketing & Development at All Saints Catholic College, London, where she leads both external and internal marketing and has recently established a successful Parents’ Fund through strategic fundraising initiatives.
With over fifteen years’ experience in the arts and design sectors across the UK and Italy, she has held roles encompassing PR, website management, content creation, and brand strategy, and founded and ran an arts‐education company offering gallery tours and digital programmes for children. In education she has developed strong skills in HR, recruitment, policy implementation, inspections, and fostering community engagement through digital strategy. Isabel holds a BA (Hons) in History of Art from Oxford Brookes University.
She is also deeply committed to her local Catholic faith and community: she has three children (aged 5, 13, and 16), all attending three different Catholic state schools—including Sacred Heart in the same parish as St. John Bosco. Isabel is active locally, attending Sacred Heart parish, participating in parish life, volunteering, and contributing her skills and time to ensure faith, education and community are closely intertwined.
Nick joined Entered Salesian College Battersea in 1954. He was House Captain and Football Captain.
On leaving London University Nick joined the finance industry and worked for Ford Motor Credit and NatWest Group before starting his own business in 1979 specialising in asset finance.
Nick served as a Governor of St Francis Xavier College and Salesian College for some twenty years thirteen of which as Chair of PPA. He is currently a Co-Opted Governor and sits on the Resources Committee. His home Parish is St Bartholomew’s Norbury.
Dan grew up in the Southeast of England and completed his BSc (Hons) and MSc in Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Chichester. He worked at Kingston University for seven years as a Sports Biomechanics Lecturer and provided Sports Science support to elite athletes before retraining to become a Secondary School Teacher.
Dan taught for 14 years across three different schools in Croydon as PE Teacher, Head of Year, Head of Department and Assistant Headteacher before moving to SJBC in 2022 to become an Assistant Headteacher and a teacher of Maths.
Salvatore has been a Wandsworth resident since 2014 and joined St John Bosco College in 2019 as Local Authority Governor. He currently serves on the Resources Committee, and RUAH Committee.
After completing an MA in Contemporary European Studies at the University of Bath in 2003, Salvatore moved to Brussels, then to Rome where he began his career in media, PR and communications. He currently works as a PR and Communications consultant in the service sector.
Married, with one child, Salvatore is a member of the congregation at Brompton Oratory where he normally attends mass. He is an active member of his local community, and dedicates his free time to local politics, reading about modern European history, and running the International Churchill Society Italia, a cultural association of which he is the president and founder.
As a mother of 5 boys (one is in Y10 at SJBC), the love for challenges is what has driven Nadege to leave her home country to settle in London. Since taking that leap of faith, she has dedicated her time to volunteering in primary and secondary schools.
As a qualified teaching assistant, she has been able to give back to the community, by using her bilingual attributes and promoting British values, whilst reducing the gap between inequalities. She is looking forward to continuing her development and applying everything that she has learnt through trials and tribulations and observations for the greater good. This also includes her dedication to SJBC and children.
