St John Bosco College is celebrating another outstanding year of GCSE results. Headteacher Paul Dunne commented, "We are immensely proud of our students and all they have achieved. These results are the product of sustained effort, excellent teaching and the support of families working in partnership with the school. Our Catholic Salesian ethos encourages every young person to aim high, and it is wonderful to see that reflected in today’s achievements."
Results were strong across the board, but some individual subject areas shone; in Modern Foreign Languages, over 30% of students achieved grade 9 in Spanish and more than 20% of students achieved grade 9 in French. Over 50% of students sitting Chemistry achieved a grade 7 or above and 75% of students in RE achieved grade 5 or above.
Deputy Headteacher, Maria Budzynska, said, "Our Year 11 students have shown tremendous perseverance and maturity throughout their GCSE journey. They have embraced every opportunity to succeed, and these results are a fitting reward for their hard work. We are grateful to our staff and parents for their unwavering support and look forward to welcoming many of our students into the Sixth Form."
Chair of Governors, Jane Hargrave, added, "We are incredibly proud of the achievements of our students. These results reflect the values, ambition and sense of community that are at the heart of St John Bosco College."
Highlights from individual students include Jozy (pictured)with nine grade 9s and Darina with eight grade 9s. Divine, Elliot and Ethan, who between them achieved 23 grades 7–9, and Aicha, who achieved 5 grades 7–9.
The students all spoke of their delight with their grades and their excitement for their sixth form courses at SJBC.
