One of the biggest challenges that any student faces during their academic career is the transfer from primary to secondary school. We are confident that we have an excellent transition programme to ensure that students settle in quickly and enjoy their first few weeks at St John Bosco College. This includes close relationships with our feeder primary schools; opportunities for students to visit the school, for instance to watch school productions, taster sessions or take part in the community clubs and classes; and an effective induction process to familiarise students and families with the school before and after their arrival.
Tuesday 1 July: Incoming Year 7 Transition Day. Our new students will be spending the day at St John Bosco College to acquaint themselves with new friends and the school environment; 8.55am- 2.30pm. Students will receive a ‘Welcome to St John Bosco College’ full of key information and a suggested summer reading list.
Tuesday 8 July: Welcome Evening for Parents/Carers, beginning with refreshments from 5.00pm, the event will start at 5.30pm and is expected to finish by 7.00pm. This is an opportunity to meet key members of staff, to ask questions and to learn how you can prepare your child for the transition to secondary school.
