A parent of a child attending any LGfL school can now use the following website to check their Free School Meals eligibility pps.lgfl.org.uk/ To find out whether your child qualifies for Free School Meals, please fill in the details requested on this site.

Eligibility

This is important, whether or not a pupil has school meals.

The school receive additional funding ‘Pupil Premium’ which is designed to support children from lower income families. The amount the school receives is based on the number of parents who are eligible and apply for Free School Meals.

It is important that all our students who are eligible for Free School Meals register even if you have a packed lunch as you may also be eligible for financial support with other school activities.

Do you qualify?

You can register your child for Free School Meals if you receive any of these benefits:

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit, provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income (as assessed by HM Revenue & Customs) that does not exceed £16,190
  • Working Tax Credit ‘run-on’ – the payment someone may receive for a further four weeks after they stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit – for those applying on or after 1 April 2018, the household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits they get)
  • It will not affect any other benefits you are claiming.

Pupils can also register for Free School Meals if they get any of these benefits themselves.
